After finishing my study at the Rhein-Main University, my friend Christian Kriegsheim and me decided to take any risks for being independent. So we developed our agency-structures to act in all kinds of creative disciplines. Youlookfor Design is our fusion which will grow constantly from now on. Finally I’m working on my Thesis-Project at the University of Applied Sciences Wiesbaden – HSRM. The basic idea of this project is to make a research of my personal life as a human and so called artist or designer. Mainly I want to discover the influences of the past and present that effected me in my behavior and work.

I wrote nearly 100 pages trying to sum up the memories of my 25 years on this planet and asked some friends to write down their honest impression of my person.
Through these words I got a better base to handle the development of the concept for a sophisticated layout. After several versions I decided to expand the book-project to the web. In this section you will find a documentation of the layout-process for the book itself, which concentrates on the story, without showing much works. Therefor you find a sorted and selected schowcase of my progress as an artist in the “work catalogue”. The selected works are mostly never shown personal sketches.

Here you can see the main stages of the layout I’ve done so far. The current version nr. 16, on which I am working right now will be the last and final one.
I don’t think that this project will be a temporary one because I’m curious about keeping up on it in the future. So far the project helped me to accept and also to finisch some personal emotional conflicts.

Furthermore there will be a single-show at the Schauraum-Gallery in the Artfactory Worms in February 2010, where I will exhibit also Sideprojects that turned out while working on this book. Please feel free to take a second look the next days because I’ll update these sections regularly until the end of the Exhibition.

Selected works beginning from 1996 when I was a nerdy Comicfanboy at the age of 12. I concentrated mostly on drawing Superheroes and Fantasy-topics, especially when I began to play RPG’s like Dungeons&Dragons. Primary in 2004 my interest in artistic expression beyond Comic-books enlarged.

When I came across the new Victoria and Albert Museum Identity-Project realised by Karsten Schmidt, I was amazed by his work. Also the possibility to rearrange and recode/decode the original processing-code got me completely. So here are my Stills from the code for the Decode Exhibition. I was invited to develop a visual concept for the online-tv show of the webshop Fotemia. My work included mainly the creation of an introanimation and the conception of a workflow-productionprocess aswell as the first few productions themselves. The testimonial Michael Muenkner is well known as the radio presenter voice of the german radiostation Radio FFH. I was happy to work with the very skilled and experienced AD Nils Lundgruen whom I got to know during the different Projects at Fotemia.

Besides the tv-show production I supported also the graphic-department in the areas of newsletter- and broshuredesigns.

I was happy to develop an identity-card for Tamara Grabowski. She is doing physiotherapy for both – humans and horses.

I was happy to develop a portfolio-website for Tina Hohl who is a talented photographer from Wiesbaden Germany.

The site was realized trhough a customized Wordpressblog.

I was asked to create a type-logo and image for a band called: The Colour Red.

During my internship at Taobot, I got the chance to work on the illustration for the Omega Code project together with Danny Franzreb who also did the art direction. He is one of the 23 invited artists besides Joshua Davis, Matthew Curry, David Rondel Cambou, Robert Lindström, Peter Jaworowski, Colletivo, Nelson Balaban, Doug Alves, Sebastian Onufszak, Mike Cina, Michael Paul Young, Doomedo, Animatório, Andreas Pihlström, Christopher Hewitt, Mate Steinforth, Tom Muller, Danny Franzreb, Motomichi Nakamura, Tomás Peña, David Polonia, João Oliveira, Si Scott and Umeric.

It was an intensive piece of work, to come to the point when the aesthetic requirements were satisfying enough within the concept of an organic sculpture that he had in mind. The constant dialogue between Danny and me about the form and appearance of the poster inspired me a lot and influenced me deeply.

When the the possibility came to submit a fanart-poster to the project I couldn’t resist. But I didn’t want to do something similar or compareable to the other contributions. I wanted to create somekind of a cinematic moment where the omega-logo appears in an seemingly improper environment.

Rojo-Magazine from Sao Paulo invited me to publish some art in their upcoming book which will be released later this year. I created this series of two with some old stock of mine. My aim was to give the Octopus a mystic and mutant touch. After several colored versions I finally decided to make it monochrome.

This is the first of more upcoming promotional posters and postcards for myself. I was already playing with that idea when doing the AF 004 Graphic.

A very interesting task at Taobot was the design of a poster to attract new interns after me.
The whole graphic intends to show Taobot as a moving space trough which I traveled and increased. The art direction was done by Danny Franzreb.
“The ability to act in an interdisciplinary and creative way, needs the proper space to evolve.”

I’m working now for several years with the group of Doctor Atmosfearcrush, Tomahawk and Machete, who are unbelievable sounddesigners and musicians in the name of art. So it was a great opportunity to design their whole visual identity. The identity range includes a visual language for printsolutions, promotional cd’s and two websites. Check them out!

Converse made a contest about “your greatest moment with converse”. I got the idea for a provocative piece in a female and male variation. Guess I was a bit too provocative because I never heard something about the results.

I visited a play called “Jeruville” in Düsseldorf, Germany. It was an amazing atmosphere during the play. The whole set was designed in a very creative way and the sound was developed also by the great Doc. Atmosfearcrush of the Esc. Laboratory.

I was happy to develop a label for the new champagne of Andreas Peth a winemaker of the family winery Peth.

Another personal piece. I try to continue developing my mutated portraits-style.

This is my contribution for the upcoming exhibition in the Fabrik Worms. The topic is called “Spirit of Freedom” and concentrates on creative interpretations of “the key”. When I thought about it, I came to the conclusion that “the key” is in our minds or that we as persons are the key to freedom: the way that we act and treat each other. Then I put the whole idea into the context of a fictional movieposter.

I produced many different colored versions of the illustration but printed this black one at last.

I was asked to redesign the webappearence of the consulting agency BXB. After several weeks of work the design is finally done. Unfortunately the coding wasn’t done inhouse.

A fanart portrait of Spiderman – the hero of my childhood. I will never forget uncle Ben’s last words. Furthermore I think every designer should think about them in his personal context. Thank you very much Stan Lee.

A little personal piece that I did to warm up in the morning. I decided to follow my intuition for nearly one hour.

A folder for the b4-Consulting Group. The content promotes a management seminar for people who want to get ahead with both: career and family.

A personal project.

A Posterdesign for a play originally written by Dario Fo, which is going on tour this year. Unfortunately the final and produced poster is totally different, but I want to show the versions that I like more.

I was able to create two alternative versions for a consulting identity named Helix under the art direction of Holger Grünwald from Taobot.

Involved from the very beginning phase, this project was the most instructive one at Taobot. The opportunity to support the team in the field of design, layout and picture-retouch while being part of the project and team improvement, got me a more detailed knowledge about concepting and managing such a big challenge.

While working on the Omega Code Project I got the idea to use the organic forms for some private joy.
So this piece was born, showing a morphing head on a suited body. It is the same graphical language like the Esc. Laboratory Identity and I think there will come more experiments in this kind of style.

I’m still trying to find a method to express an artificial way of my creative emotions. Although a designer is often putting his own style intentionally into the visualization of a project, there is always a subconscious influence in the creative part of working I think. Constantly I take some time and try to let the subconcious work instead of my head. It is some kind of creative meditation.

This is a personal project which currently is and presumably will stay under developement. I will update it from time to time.

It was a great honor for me to do a special Identity for Klaus Binder. He is an very impulsive artist and deeply obliged with the belief in eastern religions and their view of life. The essential symbol of his Identity is the circle, which also appears constantly in his works as an Enso which comes out of the Zen-Buddhism.

Furthermore he was my teacher of arts back in school and told me never to lose my hunger for creativity and freedom.

After working a long time mostly in front of the screen, I decided to do some hand drawing again. I was not sure of what exactly should turn out but I thought about some certain moments in my life while doing it.

The Muse Magazine is a try to translate the antique muses of the greek mythology into the time of nowadays. The content presents every of the nine muses with a photographical and illustrative part. Furthermore the magazine presents personal reports of living artists and their experiences with the several muses.

This project was my intermediate examination at the university.

This was primarily a shooting for the portfolio of a young actress named Louise Oppenländer. These two pictures of the whole session inspired me somehow and one of them even more.

This was my contribution to the eDward animation contest from the Edit Filmmakers Festival in 2008. The basic condition was the lenght of the movie, reduced to thirty seconds and the topic “Planet Earth”.

This editoral design project was mainly concepted as a portfolio-magazine for young or unknown artists of every kind. The prototypeversion was printed in a limited edition with four different kind of papers, which were used to underline the artistic content of the magazine. The work included concepting the magazine and it’s style, shooting the content and managing the production of the prototypes.

A free non commercial work with apple equipment to improve my photography skills. The idea was to show the mouse in three different visual traits.

The label World in Sound asked me to design the cover and visual story concept for a great psychodelic-rock project, including a never released James Brown remix by visionary Peter Thomas who did the music for the “Spacepatrol Orion” tv-series in 1966. Directly after the release, it was voted to album of the month by the Eclipsed magazine.

After doing the photos of the actor Christian Schwarz who played the main character in the shortmovie Curriculum Vitae, he asked me to design a website for him which is now online to visit.

A personal project which I started once and still is in progress. “Gay pics for straight guys” wants to show heterosexual men in attractive poses and dressess. More will come.

This graphic was one of the parent concepts for the Taobot internship poster. The basic Idea was the same but the conversion turned out more playful in the use of structures. I think I’m gonna update this graphic one day.

Two friends equiped with cameras and me wired with old cables and rags were doing a spontanious performance in the basement of the dormitory I used to live in. I was inspired by the Meta Human project of Doc Atmosfearcrush and it’s apocalyptic mutant ambient.

I wanted to do some kind of fashion photography but more iconic in the final impression. Furthermore I wanted to stay mainly in black and white.
This was one of my first real shootings at the university which I had to do unfortunately only with a room light and a table lamp.

While working for Michael Eibes Design I was able to develop this little catalogue. It contains the products of his shop A20-Couture aswell as the shirt designs of 888Monkey.
